Face Mask Scams Are Prolific

The economy is in the first couple of stages of reopening. Over the next few weeks we will likely see a few new procedures implemented across the board. The CDC has listed a few recommendations and guidance regarding the safe reopening of businesses.

There is still a lot to learn about COVID-19, as the respiratory illness continues to be studied, there are a few precautions to take to ensure your health is safe. Business owners have an obligation to implement procedures to help slow the spread of coronavirus within their workplace. Ensure transparency as you implement these changes so your employees are prepared and well-equipped when the doors reopen.

In order to prevent transmission within your business there are a few steps you can take. Be sure to communicate that any employee feeling sick, or feeling that they may have symptoms related to coronavirus should stay home. Any employees who are sick or symptomatic should isolate themselves in their homes.  Any employee who may have a sick family member at home should be sure to notify their supervisor and take the at-home precautions to ensure their safety.

Another way businesses can ensure their employees’ health when beginning to reopen is to conduct daily health checks.

As a business owner it is your responsibility to consider where your employees may be exposed to coronavirus. In order to provide a safe and healthy workplace for your employees it is suggested that you implement a few new procedures.

Be sure, to begin with, a hazard assessment. What workplace hazards may need additional PPE or controls due to the pandemic? Determine what jobs will need more PPE than others, and train your employees to use their protective equipment properly.

Encourage your employees and patrons to wear a face-covering at all times. The CDC recommends everyone wear a face covering to prevent their person who is wearing the mask from spreading their respiratory droplets to another person. KN95 masks prohibit a large amount of bacteria from getting through.
